Botox® injections are used for cosmetic denervation to improve and erase frown lines, crows feet, forehead lines, and wrinkles. This treatment has become quite popular; being used since 1995 for wrinkle reduction and now is FDA approved. It removes the angry, sad, and tired look from your face and forehead. When used in conjunction with other skin rejuvenation, treatment is very successful.
A very small amount of Botox® is injected using a micro-needle into several locations on the face, directly into the muscle that control the wrinkle. The micro-needle is used to minimize the pain, which generally feels like an insect bite. No sedation or anesthetic is required and the patient may resume all of his or her normal activities immediately, including driving a motor vehicle. Botox® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled but the untreated muscles of the face contract normally; hence normal facial expressions are unaffected. Some patients may experience slight temporary bruising at the injection site, which can be covered with make-up. Further Pre and post treatment instructions are given to each individual during their free consultation.
While Botox® need to be injected every 3 to 6 months, depending upon each individual’s condition, the duration of treatment benefits increase over time and fewer treatments are usually required in the future. Our aim is to use only the amount of Botox® that you need in order to achieve your goals. Botox® is a natural substance and millions of patients received Botox® for a variety of aesthetic conditions. Now, thanks to Botox®, one can reverse the signs of aging.
Treatment with Botox® can be repeated safely and our goal is to erase your frown and sad lines at reasonable and competitive prices.
Restylane® and Perlane Injections
As we age, wrinkles, facial and nasolabials folds become more visible on our face. Restylane®, a natural cosmetic filler and a non-animal substance, is used to restore volume and fullness of the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Restylane® is the first and only dermal filler made of a crystal-clear gel called “NASHA&trade” or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid.
Restylane® works in two ways: Upon injection, into the mid to deep dermis, the NASHA gel adds volume and fullness to smooth facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane® integrates into dermal tissue, then attracts and binds to water molecules to help maintain volume. Usually, the average treatment results last six months or even longer.
Unlike other hyalunonic acid-based products such as those made from rooster combs, only Restylane® is non-animal-based, and eliminates any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. Restylane® is approved by the FDA for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It provides a more durable aesthetic improvement then bovine collagen and is well tolerated. The most commonly reported side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within two to three days. Though there is no need of pre-testing with Restylane® patients should take a few precautions before being treated. Patients should avoid using Aspirin, no steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s wort, or high doses of vitamin E supplements prior to treatment, because these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
Restylane® provides optimal cosmetic results, which sustain for a longer period of time (as much as twice as long) than with collagen. Restylane® injections can take only a few minutes depending upon the area treated. It is quick, has no down time, and can be given during a lunch hour and you can look younger within hours.
